Workshop With Profesor Esquilo

We are excited to announce that Professor Esquilo will be visitin Capoeira Luanda Austin this Thursday, Febrauary 2. During his visit, he will be teaching a workshop which we hope everyone will attend.

All Capoeira Luanda students with color on their cord are required to attend. White cords are also highly encouraged to be there. We hope that, no matter your cord level, you will learn how to improve your game. Most of all, we hope you enjoy and have fun!

2011 Holiday Schedule

Another great year of training has come to an end. Thanks everyone for all of your hard work and dedication. This year has brought a lot of exciting changes for the group, including the introduction of Instructor Tataruga as our new teacher! We look forward to what the new year will bring.

Our regular classes are canceled for the holidays from 12/22/11 until 1/31/12. However, please join us for our end of the year roda on 12/29/11 at the Pan American Recreating Center.

Our regularly scheduled classes will resume on 1/3/12. We look forward to seeing you soon!

The studio will be closed for one day longer than expected due to unforeseen issues. I know everyone was excited for class today, so just save that energy for Thursday (5/20) when we’ll be back on schedule.

Hey everyone, as you should all be aware, the studio will be closed from Today (5/10) to next Monday (5/17) for cleaning and minor repairs. We will resume our regularly scheduled classes on Tuesday, May 18.

Capoeira Luanda students should check their email for details on planned activities during this time.

Check out this short film created by one of our students, Jennifer Malin. This was one of a few selected by a panel of judges for the annual Faces of Austin multimedia program. The works were chosen to highlight Austin’s unique sense of place and diverse cultural identity.

Please mark your calendars on Saturday, November 14, 2009 the Oswaldo Cantu-Pan American Recreation Center will be hosting the Stand Down for the homeless all day.
We will not be having class this day. I encourage everyone to take part.

Hey everyone.

I am proud to announce that we are now a non-profit organization, Austin Capoeira Foundation. And although we have a lot of work ahead of us, I feel that this will be for the better. This way we can provide more programing and opportunities for the group. I want to thank all of those who have helped me come to this point passed and present.
